October in Eagle River: afternoons around 42°F, nights around 26°F. A box that waits outside overnight can freeze, so jams, sauces and fresh fruit do better at an office or a front desk than on a porch.

Freezing nights (January, February, March, April, October, November and December). The average low reaches 6°F in January. Jams, sauces and fresh fruit should not spend a night outside; offices, senior residences and hospitals all receive indoors.

Wettest months (September and August). Around 3.6 and 2.6 inches of rain on average. Boxes are sealed, not waterproof: a covered porch or a workplace address keeps the packaging presentable.

On freezing nights a shipped box waits outside; flowers do not. The same-day flowers on this page are carried in by a local florist and handed over.

Normals: NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, 1991 to 2020, Eagle Rvr Nature Ctr station, 3.7 miles from Eagle River. Heat: average high 85°F or more. Freezing: average low 32°F or less. Snow: 2 inches or more in the month. Wettest: the two months with the most rain.
