Hospital, senior living, hospice & campus deliveries in Pacific Palisades

A basket ships by parcel to a street address, so it cannot go to a PO box, a graveside or a service. What it can do is reach a bedside, a resident's door, a campus mailroom or a hotel front desk, as long as the order names the person the way that place expects. Below, the kinds of places in and around Pacific Palisades that boxes get sent to, how each one receives a parcel, and a local example laid out the way the label should read. For a service itself, the same-day flowers on this page go by hand through the local florist.

Hospitals

Parcels go to the hospital's receiving desk or mailroom and are brought up by staff, so pick a delivery day that lands before the expected discharge. Baked goods, fruit and snack boxes suit a room; nothing that needs a fridge. Where a unit does not allow fresh flowers, a basket or a plant is the surer gift.

Ship to Patient's full name, unit and room Santa Monica - Ucla Med Ctr & Orthopaedic Hospital Acute care hospital with an emergency department1250 16TH StreetSanta Monica, CA 90404

Senior living and nursing homes

Reception signs for the box and staff bring it through, so a weekday delivery reaches the resident faster than a Saturday one. Soft baked goods, fruit and sugar-free boxes are the usual choice.

Reception signs. Most senders choose something the relatives keeping vigil can share: coffee, tea, cookies, fruit.

Colleges and campus mailrooms

Campus mailrooms hold parcels for pickup and notify the student, so a text to say a box is on the way helps. Exam weeks and move-in are the busy times; care packages go out two business days ahead.

Can a basket be shipped to Santa Monica - Ucla Med Ctr & Orthopaedic Hospital?

Yes. Santa Monica - Ucla Med Ctr & Orthopaedic Hospital sits 5 miles out from Pacific Palisades, and the box goes to its street address. Address the box to the patient's full name with the unit or room number and use the hospital's street address. Hospitals take parcels at a receiving desk or mailroom and staff bring them up, so pick a delivery day that lands before the expected discharge; a box that arrives after the patient has left sits in the mailroom until someone claims it. Fresh flowers are not allowed on some units, so for intensive care or oncology a basket or a plant is the surer gift.

Wettest months (February and January). Around 4.8 and 4.6 inches of rain on average. Boxes are sealed, not waterproof: a covered porch or a workplace address keeps the packaging presentable.

Weather only matters for the shipped box. The same-day flowers on this page are carried in by a local florist and handed over, whatever the month.
