Senior living deliveries in Preston

A basket ships by parcel to a street address, so it cannot go to a PO box, a graveside or a service. What it can do is reach a bedside, a resident's door, a campus mailroom or a hotel front desk, as long as the order names the person the way that place expects. Below, the kinds of places in and around Preston that boxes get sent to, how each one receives a parcel, and a local example laid out the way the label should read. For a service itself, the same-day flowers on this page go by hand through the local florist.

Senior living and nursing homes

Reception signs for the box and staff bring it through, so a weekday delivery reaches the resident faster than a Saturday one. Soft baked goods, fruit and sugar-free boxes are the usual choice.

When to ship what to Preston

Baskets travel by parcel and can wait on a step for an afternoon, so the month decides the contents. Thirty-year averages for Preston, month by month, with the ones that matter marked.

October in Preston: afternoons around 64°F, nights around 44°F. Nothing in the forecast averages argues against a doorstep delivery; any basket in the catalog travels well.

Freezing nights (January, February, March and December). The average low reaches 21°F in January. Jams, sauces and fresh fruit should not spend a night outside; offices, senior residences and hospitals all receive indoors.

Snow (January, February, March and December). About 28 inches a year on average. Allow one extra business day when the date matters: a birthday box that ships two days out still lands on time if it leaves three days out.

Wettest months (March and December). Around 5.1 and 5.0 inches of rain on average. Boxes are sealed, not waterproof: a covered porch or a workplace address keeps the packaging presentable.

Weather only matters for the shipped box. The same-day flowers on this page are carried in by a local florist and handed over, whatever the month.

Normals: NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, 1991 to 2020, Norwich Public Utility Plt station, 3.4 miles from Preston. Heat: average high 85°F or more. Freezing: average low 32°F or less. Snow: 2 inches or more in the month. Wettest: the two months with the most rain.
