October in Mulberry: afternoons around 85°F, nights around 66°F. Chocolate and cheese are the two to route to an address where someone can bring the box straight in; cookie, nut, coffee and spa baskets shrug off an afternoon on the step.

Heat (May, June, July, August, September and October). Afternoons average 85°F or more, peaking near 92°F in July. Send chocolate, cheese and fresh fruit to a workplace or a front desk in these months; baked goods, nuts, coffee, tea and spa baskets can take a doorstep drop.

Wettest months (June and August). Around 8.3 and 7.8 inches of rain on average. Boxes are sealed, not waterproof: a covered porch or a workplace address keeps the packaging presentable.

For a October gift that cannot wait on a hot step, the same-day flowers on this page are the surer choice: a local florist brings them to the door and hands them over.

Normals: NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, 1991 to 2020, Bartow 1se station, 11.4 miles from Mulberry. Heat: average high 85°F or more. Freezing: average low 32°F or less. Snow: 2 inches or more in the month. Wettest: the two months with the most rain.
