October in Elmira: afternoons around 54°F, nights around 35°F. Snow slows the last mile: for a date that matters, pick a delivery day one business day early.

Freezing nights (January, February, March, April, November and December). The average low reaches 7°F in February. Jams, sauces and fresh fruit should not spend a night outside; offices, senior residences and hospitals all receive indoors.

Snow (January, February, March, April, October, November and December). About 140 inches a year on average. Allow one extra business day when the date matters: a birthday box that ships two days out still lands on time if it leaves three days out.

Wettest months (October and September). Around 4.1 and 3.7 inches of rain on average. Boxes are sealed, not waterproof: a covered porch or a workplace address keeps the packaging presentable.

On freezing nights a shipped box waits outside; flowers do not. The same-day flowers on this page are carried in by a local florist and handed over.
